Explaining an Arts NonProfit
Here's a very funny and to the point video produced by Krista Blackwood, musical director of the Kansas City based choral ensemble Octarium.
We are looking forward here in KC to next Sunday's (December 12th) Lessons and Carols featuring Octarium at St. Mark Lutheran Church (3800 Troost Avenue). It's a benefit sponsored by Tulips on Troost to support the Friends of St. Mark and neighborhood revitalization.

A Great Little Book
Nothing to cut up here. No artwork to put under a paperweight or decorative plate.
Just a great book about community building and gardens and the people who tend them.
This book comes to mind this morning as I return from the Center High School greenhouse where hundreds of plants grown by the CHS Life Skills students are now looking for the perfect spot to spend the rest of their summer.

It Just Might Be Your 2010 Calling
Expect to meet only the most serious of petal pushers this New Year's Day on Troost Avenue at 11AM. That's when we'll meet to bury the last of our bulbs at TOT's annual January 1st planting event. This year we're teaming to plant tulips with the KCATA (at 18th St. & Troost)...that's next door to the ATA's headquarters, so finding something liquid and hot to warm your mittens is most assuredly in your future.
Bravely ring in the late morning New Year with us and your 2010 is sure to be filled with smiles.
